Elevating the Practice of Talent Development

October 17, 2024 @ 12:00 pm1:00 pm EDT

Free

Executive Director Rich Douglas offers an overview of Bellevue University’s Human Capital Lab, a virtual community of talent development practitioners and scholars. The Lab’s mission is to advance human capital practice by focusing on three primary initiatives:

  1. A community of practice in talent management.
  2. Project support, in which the Lab pairs doctoral students—who are accomplished, mid-career practitioners—with employers who have research opportunities for them.
  3. An award-winning podcast featuring business, organization and industry leaders.

While outlining these initiatives, Douglas talks about ways that talent development professionals can get involved with and benefit from the Human Capital Lab. He also goes into detail about what the Lab plans to accomplish with its community of practice and offers concrete examples of the kinds of projects that doctoral students can assist organizations with through the Lab’s project support.

Learning Objectives:

  • Description, purpose and potential of a community of practice in talent development.
  • Learn about the opportunities for learning from-and participating in-a podcast.
  • Understand the need to embed a professional doctorate into practice.
